TRAVEL TIPS: RAINY SEASON

Hello Travelers. We All Know Botswana and the rest of Southern Africa is currently experiencing rainy situations, due to the visitation of our sister, Cyclone Dineo. By the way  this Cyclone was named by our country, Dineo means Gifts in Setswana. Before you ask yourself what gifts a cyclone could bring, well believe it or not the Gaborone damn is currently sitting at +90 % as we speak, from the 30 something that it was before Dineo hit us. All the other dams in Botswana are also flourishing at the moment thanks to the heavy rains that were brought about by this cyclone. Nonetheless Life has not stopped because of this rain though. Many people are still travelling in and out and around the country. We just wanna take this moment to caution you our lovely travelers on how to be safe in these wet periods

Please read tips from below
1.Please ensure you travel with an umbrella and other rain protective clothing like rain coats and boots.
2. Remember to pack warm clothes, it tends to be extra chilly when its raining so please keep warm.
3. Roads have become slippery and not every driver on the road respects other road users. So please drive with caution and becareful at all time. When its too dark even during the day please switch on the lights while driving to make sure you are visible to other drivers.
4. Please book accommodation well in time, you dont want to be driving out in the rain looking for hotels and guest houses, so be a responsible traveller and plan ahead well in time.
5. Stay away from trees while its raining and dont park directly near any trees.
6.Keep all your travelling documents in a water proof area, eg. Use a plastic to cover your passports and permits and only take them out when necessary.

ETLA GAE 2017

Olerato Keegope & Ndaboka Laninah Bengani
Hello 2017 and all our Readers. Compliments of the New Season. “Out with the old, and in with the new” sound familiar? The new year often starts with many of us making personal resolutions, and if brave enough- we publicly declare them. Some of the most common New Year’s resolutions include eating better, re-igniting spiritual relationships, going to gym AND TRAVELLING MORE.
Usually, most of these resolutions start with the best of intentions and motivations, but the enthusiasm to smash these goals, dies with time.
Why do they die? It’s so easy to come up with reasons involving time and money. Running out of time, life getting in the way, forgetting to ask for time off, work getting too busy, not finding an affordable package, and the worst-NOT SAVING ENOUGH.
Reasons, Excuses, whatever these are, we have got you covered!
While we would love to advocate for ALL your resolutions, we can only commit to making 2017 your year of fun, affordable travel and exploration of Botswana, Africa and the World.
Stay tuned to our blog and explore hidden adventures with us this year!

We would like to would like to wish our fellow bloggers, friends, and followers a very happy and happening new year.

Festive Safety Tips to Travellers

Hello guys heres a little note from us this December to all those who will be travelling either on vacation or at Home. Please be safe out there, drive with caution and if you feel tired just park your car at a safe spot and rest. If you are flying out or leaving the country double check your passport and all necessary documentation before you leave the House. Check for your ATM card and Money , you dont wanna be stuck somewhere with no money. Tell someone close where you are going and ensure you give them contact details when you get on the other side. Yeah we still talking to those crossing boarders. Also Avoid asking for help from random people, rather look for a security official or go into the nearest store to ask. And if you are going out for fun. Never leave your drink or food unattended by someone you truly trust, otherwise get a new drink, Moreki(buyer) must organise. One also important fact we always forget is Airtime. Always ensure you have enough airtime at all times. Otherwise from the Etla Gae girls, enjoy your festive season and travel safe. God be with you.
